Microsoft’s New Tools Won’t Tolerate Hate Speech
Attacks from internet trolls is now rampant not only on various social media platforms, but on other online communities as well. Facebook and Twitter have been tackling this issue for some time now by employing different measures to protect their users.
To ensure online safety, The tech giant with millions of users across services that include OneDrive, Skype, Xbox Live, Docs.com, Outlook, Office 365 and Sway, unveiled a website for reporting hateful comments on any of its consumer services.
“We work with governments, online safety advocates and other technology companies to ensure there is no place on our hosted consumer services for conduct that incites violence and hate. As one example, Microsoft recently joined major social media and video-sharing firms in support of the European Commission Code of Conduct countering illegal hate speech online – a joint effort to stop unlawful public incitement to violence and hatred across Europe.”
